LOUIS CLARK / Mi homenaje personal

Desde 1976 puedo decir que LOUIS CLARK forma parte de mi mundo, cuando escuché por primera vez el álbum A NEW WORLD RECORD. A partir de entonces descubrí otras de sus magníficas aportaciones al mundo ELO como FACE THE MUSIC y un majestuoso y sinfónico ELDORADO que fue, y lo sigue siendo, mi álbum favorito de ELO.

A partir de ahí y con su contribución surgieron, el inconmensurable OUT OF THE BLUE, DISCOVERY, XANADU y SECRET MESSAGES.

Si para mi fue un auténtico lujo poder verle en directo en varias ocasiones, también fue un privilegio recoger de sus propias manos algunos autógrafos que conservo con cariño.

Poseo su álbum solista PER-SPEK-TIV, en versión inglesa y otra versión muy curiosa que se cruzó en mi camino de una forma muy peculiar…

Ésta versión tiene una portada impresa en papel normal abierto anverso y reverso, sin impresión interior, en la que figura el autor y título del disco con una especie de sombra paralela en color rojo y curiosamente, sin los títulos de los temas del álbum impresos en la parte de atrás, y los vinilos no tienen galleta central, sustituyéndola una caligrafía a mano usando un bolígrafo con los rótulos «SIDE A» y «B SIDE»… ¡Curioso!… un extra en mi colección de vinilos de ELO y relativos.

Sirva este pequeño artículo personal como homenaje y despedida a LOUIS CLARK. Una persona sencilla, humilde y asequible, que nunca aparentó lo grande que era y la capacidad creativa orquestal que poseía en su interior. Un GRAN DIRECTOR DE ORQUESTA que formó parte de la mejor ELO de todos los tiempos y a la que dejó su impronta para siempre.

Since 1976 I can say that LOUIS CLARK has been part of my world, when I first heard the album A NEW WORLD RECORD. From then on I discovered other of his magnificent contributions to the ELO world such as FACE THE MUSIC and a majestic and symphonic ELDORADO that was, and still is, my favorite ELO album.
From there and with his contribution, the immeasurable OUT OF THE BLUE, DISCOVERY, XANADU and SECRET MESSAGES emerged.
If for me it was a real luxury to be able to see him live on several occasions, it was also a privilege to collect from his own hands some autographs that I keep with affection.
I have his solo album PER-SPEK-TIV, in English version and another very curious version that crossed my path in a very peculiar way…
This version has a cover printed on plain paper open front and back, without interior printing, in which the author and title of the album appear with a kind of parallel shadow in red and curiously, without the titles of the album tracks printed on the back, and the vinyls do not have a central biscuit, replacing it with a calligraphy by hand using a pen with the labels "SIDE A" and "B SIDE"… Curious!… an extra in my vinyl collection of ELO and relative.
Serve this small personal item as a tribute and farewell to LOUIS CLARK. A simple, humble and approachable person, who never pretended how great he was and the orchestral creative capacity that he possessed inside of him. A GREAT ORCHESTRA DIRECTOR who was part of the best ELO of all time and on whom he left his mark forever.
