Mientras en el vituayenmark un grupo de músicos callejeros interpretaban «In the hall on the Mountain King».

ELOSPAIN:
So you get an idea of how excited I was to experience this day and this place, I have to tell you something: my great passions are music and soccer (The ELO, in this we all agree, and Real Madrid, in this we agree less, it's normal). Since I was 10 years old, I admired the players of the German national football team, world champions in '74, and the Olympic Stadium in Munich became mythical for me. At 12, I started dreaming of becoming a rock star because of a song on the radio called "Living Thing." In 1981, I mythologized a building, which appeared on the inner sleeve of a record; that record was ELO's "Time," and the building was the Hypo, which is in Munich. Can you imagine, right?
On Friday, September 21, very early, the trucks with Jeff Lynne's ELO's stage arrived, and the buses with the tour personnel, minus musicians (supposedly). Meanwhile, in the Olympic Park, a group of street musicians played "In the Hall of the Mountain King" at around 13:00 h. Also, at 15:00 h. in my hotel, very close to the Olympiahalle, "I Can Tell You" played, performed by Jeff in the tribute to George, followed by "Lift Me Up" from the Armchair Theatre. Can you ask for more? Well, there's more. At 15:30 h., ELO chords already resonated in the Olympic Park; the sound checks had begun. I started circling the building looking for the door the musicians would come out of. After asking at three doors (one of them where they were preparing the bags for VIP tickets) for the one where the entire stage would come out, I found three accredited people. I asked them if Jeff would come out that way; they asked me why I was asking, and when I told them that all I wanted was to get a photo, an autograph (like any fan), they recommended that I not waste my time because I wouldn't succeed.
At 18:00 h., people were already queuing at the door. At 19:50 h., the hall was full. Punctually at 20:00 h., Billy Lockett came out, a good musician and an excellent singer, who said goodbye after about 40 minutes. The tour personnel jumped on stage to uncover the instruments of Jeff's band, making final adjustments. At 21:11 h., Craig Fruin appeared in front of the stage to give instructions to the personnel finishing setting up the microphones and disappeared again between the black cloths that covered the sides of the stage. Only collaborations of Jeff (Harrison, Petty, Orbison, Adams) played over the loudspeakers. At 21:15 h., the first booing from the audience for wanting to see Jeff so badly. "You Got It" played, and the entire audience clapped their hands to the rhythm of the song. It ended, and the second warning was even louder. A few seconds later, the lights went out, before a minute passed, the first raindrops fell on the stage screens and outside on the streets of Munich. The setlist, without surprises (we were not lucky like Oakland and Toronto, where they played "Xanadu"). The sound was spectacular, both for ELO and the acoustics of the Olympiahalle. There wasn't a note or a chord out of place or out of time; the vocals were impeccable. Jeff was the only one with a license to fail, for that reason. The years don't forgive, in "Showdown," he had a very powerful entrance after taking a sip from a glass—what could he be drinking? He surprised even Mike Stevens. The audience was engaged from beginning to end, without a break, not aware that the night was going to be long, not the concert because it wouldn't be easy to fall asleep. We reached the pantomime of the band's exit and entrance (I don't like it; they could save it) to play the tribute to Ludwig Van. I love the image of the four guitars together playing (almost as daring as Quo's). The band disappeared from the stage, the hall lights came on, the stage filled with people (I could count up to 20) dressed in vests and helmets of blue, yellow, green, red, orange colors. The tour continues in two days in Vienna. I don't want to go… I rethink; it's over. Perfect, dream fulfilled!!! I go out into the street; it's raining heavily, and I'm not wearing the right clothes. It doesn't matter; I start talking to the rain: "Don't discourage me, sweet liar. I can't get Mr. Blue Sky out of my mind. Treat me with care because there's something alive in me that is making me go back to the stone, to when I was a child. Don't be an evil woman
