A principios de la década de 2000, en medio de una vibrante escena musical australiana dominada por Rock and Pop, Sarah Blasko surgió con un álbum debut que ofreció una refrescante divergencia. Lanzado originalmente en octubre de 2004, The Oberture & the Underscore ganó cuatro nominaciones de aria, logró la certificación de oro y presentó canciones que se abrieron paso en seis pies debajo, One Tree Hill y Little Fish. Su tono introspectivo y su sonido cinematográfico ayudaron a redefinir el paisaje independiente local. The latest album by the Australian artist Sarah Blasko was released last September 5, 2025, as a double LP. Its title: "The Overture & The Underscore" as a 20th Anniversary Edition on golden-colored vinyl, including a TOM PETTY cover produced by JEFF LYNNE. Specifically, "INTO THE GREAT WIDE OPEN."
In the early 2000s, amidst a vibrant Australian music scene dominated by Rock and Pop, Sarah Blasko emerged with a debut album that offered a refreshing change. Originally released in October 2004, The Overture & the Underscore received four ARIA nominations, achieved gold certification, and featured songs that made their way into Six Feet Under, One Tree Hill, and Little Fish. Its introspective tone and cinematic sound helped redefine the local indie landscape. To commemorate its twentieth anniversary, a special 2LP 180 GSM colored vinyl edition is being released. Blasko will also return to the stage for a six-date national tour, celebrating both The Overture & The Underscore and What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have, which is also approaching its own 20-year milestone.
