Art World Of Thomas Cetnarowski

Me llamo Thomas.

ELOSPAIN:
When an illustration does not need to explicitly show what it wants to symbolize, because its evidence simply makes clear what it represents, it becomes art, but also when it is a kind of allegory in which, through various elements assonances, it is possible to see beyond what any mortal can imagine with the naked eye, it can be said that it is ART in capital letters.
Today we show an "image within an image" as its own author THOMAS CETNAROWSKI says on his own website. Or maybe we should say "a double picture within a picture"? The truth is that, from our point of view, it is a very, very special drawing, where musical elements, choirs, orchestra and subtle motifs are combined that fit perfectly, to, in a very particular way, bring to the scene by duplicated and shaped, one could say "magical", the irreplaceable figure of the best music producer of all time: JEFF LYNNE.

In the words of
TOMAS CETNAROWSKI:
I created this image many years ago, and the truth is that it brings back very good memories.
My name is Thomas. I am 53 years old. I was born in Poland, but since 1995 I have lived in Vancouver, Canada. Art was in me from my earliest years. I always liked to draw and paint in any type of artistic technique. This led to my graduation from the University of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland in 1993. In 1995 my wife and I moved to Canada. I specialized in pencil drawings, with a touch of optical illusions, fantasy and many crazy ideas. Years ago I was looking for an interesting topic and being a huge ELO fan I decided to do a portrait of Jeff Lynne in my own way. I doubled the face and added many elements that I thought would complement the rest. There's a choir, musicians and… a few Jeffs :) I wanted to keep a certain historical style. The ELO had so many classic elements that I wanted to have that classic flavor in all my composition. You can see the result in theimage. Good, bad… I don't know. But I like it.
Back when the "Showdown" mailing list run by Lynn Hoskins was very active, I took advantage of it, and when we had the opportunity to send birthday wishes to Jeff, I included the original of this drawing in my letter. I'm not sure Jeff would receive it, but I was still very excited to have this opportunity. ELO has been with me since the late 70's and is still a big part of my life. Who knows, maybe it's a good time to revisit the same topic…
