Con su peculiar estilo de hacer sonar el timbre de su inconfundible violín azul, MIK KAMINSKI merece un capítulo aparte dentro de la formación de ELO, y hoy lo traemos a ELO ESPAÑA en forma de figura de acción por su carisma y su trabajo en la banda.
El talentoso MIK KAMINSKI con su violín lo llevó a unirse a ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA en un momento clave de su carrera en el año 1973, y poco tiempo después de que ROY WOOD abandonara la formación, tras responder a un anuncio en la revista Melody Maker. Su audición fue legendaria: siendo el único aspirante que no tocó una nota equivocada, impresionando al líder de la banda, JEFF LYNNE. KAMINSKI se integró a la banda y contribuyó en el tercer álbum de estudio de ELO, ON THE THIRD DAY (1973). Su habilidad para combinar la ejecución clásica con la energía del rock fue fundamental para solidificar el distintivo sonido orquestal de ELO. Su distintivo violín eléctrico de color azul se convirtió en una parte integral del sonido de la banda durante gran parte de su apogeo, contribuyendo a la fusión única de rock y música clásica que caracterizó a ELO durante tantos años.

The talented MIK KAMINSKI and his violin led him to join ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA at a key moment in the band’s career in 1973, shortly after ROY WOOD left the group, after answering an advert in Melody Maker magazine. His audition became legendary: he was the only applicant who didn’t play a single wrong note, impressing band leader JEFF LYNNE. Kaminski joined the band and contributed to ELO’s third studio album, ON THE THIRD DAY (1973). His ability to combine classical technique with rock energy was fundamental in solidifying ELO’s distinctive orchestral sound. His trademark blue electric violin became an integral part of the band’s sound during much of its peak, contributing to the unique fusion of rock and classical music that defined ELO for so many years.
His energetic stage style, often described as that of a “wild violinist,” broke with traditional notions of classical performance and cemented his image as a true showman.
His musical career spans decades, from his beginnings as a violin prodigy to his time with ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA until 1980, later with formations such as ELO Part II from 1991 onward, and more recently THE ORCHESTRA, of which he was a founding member, bringing the magic of the ELO sound to audiences all over the world.
