¡Cuídate de la Oscuridad!

Traigo hoy aquí un original y complejo tema que es parte de la banda sonora de la película “Weapons”, que pudimos ver en cines este pasado verano. Una historia terrorífica (de terror)… no es que sea mala!… que también!! Con diez minutos iniciales prometedores tanto en argumento como en ambientación sonora y que…tendrás que comprobar por ti mismo y sacar conclusiones. ¡No spoiler!

Pero no es la película lo que aquí hoy me interesa, sino este maravilloso tema del George Harrison más hinduista, compuesto en 1970 y que en algún momento llegó a manifestar como su favorito. La interpretación está destinada, en homenaje póstumo de 2002 que corre a cargo de un elenco de sus amigos más destacados, a agradecer su talento y una prolija vida compositiva que podemos disfrutar hoy y siempre. Protagonista principal “Mano lenta” Clapton, flanqueado por sendas guitarras acústicas: A su derecha nuestro ínclito Jeff y a su izquierda Dhani, hijo de George, su vivo retrato. Lo cierto es que este “Concert for George” no tiene desperdicio por emotivo y extraordinariamente ejecutado. “La crema de la crema” de nuestra música en directo. En la letra de este tema, el Harrison más espiritual & krishna, te conmina a tener mucho cuidado con tus pensamientos “en bucle” que contaminan y embarran tu mente; esos negativos y tóxicos que atormentan tu cabeza y tanto daño te infringen. Cuídate de la tristeza, porque puede golpear y lastimarte!

Today I bring you an original and complex piece that forms part of the soundtrack of the movie Weapons, which we were able to watch in theaters this past summer. A terrifying story (yes, horror!)… not that it’s bad!… well, actually it is too!! The first ten minutes are promising, both in storyline and sound atmosphere, but… you’ll have to see it for yourself and draw your own conclusions. No spoilers!
But it’s not the movie that interests me today, rather this wonderful track from the most Hinduist George Harrison, composed in 1970 and at some point even stated by him as his favorite. The performance comes from the 2002 posthumous tribute, carried out by an ensemble of his closest friends, as a way to honor his talent and prolific songwriting life that we can still enjoy today and always.
The main star is “Slowhand” Clapton, flanked by two acoustic guitars: on his right, our inimitable Jeff, and on his left, Dhani — George’s son, his living image. The truth is, this Concert for George is an absolute treasure, both emotional and extraordinarily well performed. “The crème de la crème” of live music.
In the lyrics of this song, Harrison at his most spiritual & Krishna-inspired urges you to be very careful with those looping thoughts that cloud and muddy your mind — the negative and toxic ones that torment your head and cause you so much harm. Beware of sadness, for it can strike and wound you!
