Siempre a la retaguardia de JEFF LYNNE, THE ORCHESTRA ha estado realizando sus propios shows con la música de ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA por bandera. Mientras JEFF estuvo desaparecido fueron la punta de lanza y quienes lideraban los directos de la música de ELO por todo el mundo, primero con BEV BEVAN a la cabeza y la denominación de ELO PART II. Una vez que BEVAN dejó la banda, pasaron a llamarse THE ORCHESTRA contando con la inestimable presencia y participación de sus compañeros KELLY GROUCUTT, LOUIS CLARK y MIK KAMINSKI, miembros originales de la antigua formación ELO y dignos herederos directos de su música. Nadie mejor que ellos, bajo la denominación de THE ORCHESTRA, para interpretar esos temas en un escenario frente a los fans de ELO mientras JEFF dejaba pasar el tiempo contado en años.

Hasta que un día resurgió JEFF LYNNE’S ELO y éstos quedaron en un segundo plano trabajando el mismo show pero a la sombra de JEFF y, seguro, que con menor solicitudes de trabajo y asistencia de público… pero pudieron y supieron perdurar y esperar, aún cuando, por desgracia, faltaron los más afamados de ellos…

Hoy la emoción les embarga porque, según ellos, este año, compartirán más música, más conciertos y más contenido entre bastidores en sus nuevas giras BLUE SKIES FOREVER TOUR. Seguramente a raíz de conocer que JEFF LYNNE’S ELO se despidió de los escenarios, y ellos volverán a ser los adalides de la música de ELO en directo.

Sus shows llenan ya su web y no dejan de aumentar. Es por ello que lo anuncian de esta manera:

MIK KAMINSKI

Antiguo miembro de ELO y ELO Part II
Prodigio del violín originario de Yorkshire, Inglaterra, Mik Kaminski se unió a ELO en 1973 tras responder a un famoso anuncio en la revista Melody Maker. Desde entonces, Mik y su violín eléctrico azul han deslumbrado a audiencias de rock en todo el mundo. Un auténtico showman, Mik es el violinista salvaje original, rompiendo con las nociones tradicionales de la interpretación escénica con un instrumento clásico.

Eric Troyer

Antiguo miembro de ELO Part II
Miembro fundador de Electric Light Orchestra Part II, el currículum de Eric Troyer es un verdadero “quién es quién” de la historia del rock. Su voz se escucha en megaéxitos como «Woman» de John Lennon, «Uptown Girl» de Billy Joel, «Total Eclipse of the Heart» de Bonnie Tyler, y en canciones de Aerosmith, James Taylor, Meat Loaf, Kiss, Lou Reed, entre otros. Ha compuesto e interpretado música para numerosas campañas publicitarias y ha trabajado en bandas sonoras de cine y televisión.

Parthenon Huxley

Parthenon Huxley se unió a Electric Light Orchestra Part II en 1998. Su música original aparece en diez álbumes, incluyendo Sunny Nights (Columbia Records) y Purgatory Falls (Universal). Su sencillo «I Loved Everything» alcanzó el #1 en la lista exclusiva de descargas de Rolling Stone. Otros logros incluyen cuatro sencillos en el Top 20, tres premios a Álbum del Año y cientos de canciones que aparecen en cine y TV.

Gordon Townsend

Antiguo miembro de ELO Part II
Nativo de Filadelfia, Pensilvania, Gordon Townsend fue la primera opción para reemplazar al miembro fundador de ELO, Bev Bevan, en la batería. Gordon proporciona una base rítmica inquebrantable bajo los arreglos musicales complejos de la banda, guiando su interpretación según las necesidades de cada canción, con poder y delicadeza a la vez.

Glen Burtnik

La carrera artística de Glen Burtnik incluye una etapa en Broadway interpretando a Paul McCartney en Beatlemania, un gran éxito en Billboard con «Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough» (#2), y diez años como líder de los legendarios Styx. Glen también lanzó dos álbumes como solista bajo A&M Records. Louis Clark

Siguiendo los pasos de su padre, Louis Clark Jr. se encarga de los arreglos de cuerdas de la banda mediante teclados sinfónicos. Arreglista, director, chelista, pianista y guitarrista originario de Birmingham, Inglaterra, Louis empezó a colaborar con ELO Part II en 1990, asistiendo a su padre como copista y arreglista. Desde 2015 aporta su talento a los conciertos en vivo de THE ORCHESTRA.

Cliffq Hillis

Cliff Hillis es un premiado compositor y productor musical radicado en Filadelfia, cuya música ha sido utilizada en películas y televisión, como en el filme de Jennifer Lopez “Enough” y la serie “Life Unexpected”. Cliff ha coescrito con compositores reconocidos como Danny Wilde (Rembrandts), Rhett Miller (Old 97’s) y el trovador Dan Bern. Cuando no está de gira con THE ORCHESTRA, toca en varias bandas y realiza giras con Patty Smyth de Scandal y miembros de The Hooters.

Always following in the footsteps of JEFF LYNNE, THE ORCHESTRA has continued to perform their own shows, proudly flying the flag of ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA’s music. While JEFF remained out of the spotlight, they were the spearhead, leading live performances of ELO’s music around the globe—initially under the name ELO PART II, with BEV BEVAN at the helm.
Once BEVAN left the band, they became known as THE ORCHESTRA, now featuring the invaluable presence and contribution of KELLY GROUCUTT, LOUIS CLARK, and MIK KAMINSKI—original members of ELO’s classic lineup and rightful heirs to its musical legacy.
There was no one better suited than them, under the name THE ORCHESTRA, to keep performing those timeless songs on stage for ELO fans, while JEFF let the years quietly pass by.
Until one day, JEFF LYNNE'S ELO rose again—and THE ORCHESTRA faded into the background, offering essentially the same live show, but now in JEFF’s shadow. As a result, they likely faced fewer booking requests and smaller audiences... but they endured. And they waited—patiently—even when, sadly, some of their most famous members passed away.
Today, they’re filled with excitement, because this year, as they put it, they’ll be sharing more music, more shows, and more behind-the-scenes content on their new BLUE SKIES FOREVER TOUR. No doubt inspired by the news that JEFF LYNNE'S ELO is retiring from the stage, they are once again stepping into the spotlight as the torchbearers of ELO’s music live in concert.
Their upcoming shows are already filling their website and the list keeps growing. That’s why they’ve made this announcement:

Mik Kaminski

Formerly of ELO and ELO Part II
A violin prodigy, Yorkshire, England’s Mik Kaminski joined ELO in 1973 after famously answering an advert in Melody Maker magazine. Ever since, Mik and his blue electric violin have dazzled rock audiences the world over. A consummate showman, Mik is the original violin wild man, shattering traditional notions of stage propriety with a classical instrument.
Eric Troyer

Formerly of ELO Part II
A founding member of Electric Light Orchestra Part II, Eric Troyer's resume reads like a who’s who of rock history. His voice can be heard on mega hits such as “Woman” by John Lennon, “Uptown Girl” by Billy Joel, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler and on songs by Aerosmith, James Taylor, Meatloaf, Kiss, Lou Reed and many others, He has written and performed music for numerous ad campaigns, and has performed on soundtracks for film and TV.
Parthenon Huxley

A native of Philadelphia, PA, Gordon Townsend was the first choice to replace retiring ELO founding member Bev Bevan on drums. Gordon lays down an unshakable back beat beneath the band’s often complex musical arrangements, steering his performance to the needs of the song, supplying rock solid power and finesse.
Glen Burtnik

Formerly of ELO Part II and Styx
Glen Burtnik's showbiz career includes a stint on Broadway as Paul McCartney in Beatlemania, a Billboard #2 smash hit “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough” and ten years as frontman for rock legends Styx. Louis Clark

Formerly of ELO Part II
Like his father before him, Louis Clark Jr. provides the band's string arrangements on symphonic keyboard. An arranger, conductor, cellist, pianist and guitarist from Birmingham, England, Louis worked with ELO Part II beginning in 1990 assisting his dad as copyist and arranger. He has brought his talents to THE ORCHESTRA's live shows since 2015.
Cliff Hillis

Cliff Hillis is an award-winning Philadelphia-based songwriter & producer whose music has been featured in movies and TV, such as the Jennifer Lopez film “Enough” and TV series “Life Unexpected.” Cliff has co-written with notable songwriters such as Danny Wilde (Rembrandts), Rhett Miller (Old 97’s) and noted troubadour Dan Bern. When not touring with THE ORCHESTRA, he plays in numerous bands and tours with Patty Smyth of Scandal and members of The Hooters.
