Anatomía de un instante

Para sorpresa de muchos FANS de JEFF LYNNE, el clásico tema «LIVIN’ THING» de ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA se escucha claramente en el primero de los capítulos de la serie ANATOMÍA DE UN INSTANTE de Movistar+. Curiosa coincidencia, a mi modo de ver, que ELO aparezca en esta serie, donde quizá raramente se podía esperar pero que aplaudimos desde aquí.

«Anatomía de un instante» es el sexto libro de narrativa del escritor español Javier Cercas, publicado inicialmente en abril de 2009.

SINOPSIS:

Esta serie se basa en el fracasado golpe de Estado en España de 1981 liderado por Alfonso Armada y Jaime Miláns del Bosch, indagando en profundidad acerca de sus razones y motivaciones, así como en el hecho de que el presidente Adolfo Suárez, su vicepresidente el capitán general Manuel Gutiérrez Mellado, y el secretario general del PCE Santiago Carrillo, fuesen los tres únicos miembros del Congreso de los Diputados que no se escondieron bajo sus butacas durante el tiroteo comandado por Antonio Tejero.​

El «instante» al que hace referencia el título es precisamente la imagen captada por las cámaras de RTVE —que conforma la cubierta del libro en su primera edición— en la que vemos a Adolfo Suárez sentado en su escaño mientras el resto de diputados están escondidos bajo sus butacas vacías, y Gutiérrez Mellado increpa a Antonio Tejero y su tropa de guardias civiles.​

“LIVIN’ THING” by ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA can be clearly heard in the very first episode of the series ANATOMY OF A MOMENT. A curious coincidence, in my view, that ELO appears in this series — perhaps the last place one would expect it.
Anatomy of a Moment is the sixth narrative book by Spanish writer Javier Cercas, first published in April 2009.
This series is based on the failed 1981 coup d’état in Spain, led by Alfonso Armada and Jaime Miláns del Bosch, exploring in depth their reasons and motivations, as well as the fact that Prime Minister Adolfo Suárez, his vice president, Captain General Manuel Gutiérrez Mellado, and the General Secretary of the PCE, Santiago Carrillo, were the only three members of the Congress of Deputies who did not hide under their seats during the shooting led by Antonio Tejero.
The “instant” referred to in the title is precisely the image captured by the RTVE cameras —which appears on the cover of the book’s first edition— showing Adolfo Suárez sitting in his seat while the rest of the deputies are hiding under their empty chairs, and Gutiérrez Mellado confronting Antonio Tejero and his group of Civil Guards.
