– OUTSIDE TIME OVERTURE: Extrañamente bella pieza instrumental.

– LINE OF TIME: Por el amor de Dios…

– I’LL NEVER STOP: Agradables y entrañables recuerdos me da este TEMAZO.

Corre cagando hostias a escuchar «Rising».

Al escucharla, inevitablemente pienso en «Concerto for a rainy day».

Reminiscencias de «Here’s the news» por doquier!! Temazo directo y chulo, muy chulo!!

– LOST IN A DREAM: Muy agradable tema.

Inevitablemente suena a despedida.

ELOSPAIN:
There are already many reviews received about the album "OUTSIDE TIME" by OLD FUTURE CRASH both through their official website and Facebook, etc. and curious… practically all of them have praised a work that at ELO ESPAÑA we have always recognized as clearly excellent and 100% recommended for any ELO/JEFF fan.
Today we want to highlight one of them that, although it is true that it is not just any criticism, since it could be interpreted as someone influenced by personal reasons with the band without this being true, it is also true that it has been written after having listened carefully to the entire album, and proof of this is the meticulous examination of each of the songs that make up this authentic masterpiece of music made in our country and its final conclusions.
The author of it: "Simopath" (Juan Pedro), someone who has dedicated part of his life to listening to music and valuing it in the most scrupulous sense of the word, offers his evaluation tobelow, while many of those who continue to purchase this album admit that "OUTSIDE TIME" by OLD FUTURE CRASH could very well be the RECORD OF THE YEAR 2016.

THE CRITICISM
THE TOPICS:
- OUTSIDE TIME OVERTURE: Strangely beautiful instrumental piece. The Moog line is really nice (or does it simulate a Theremin?), an instrument whose sound I love. After listening to it for the first time, I finally understood Mauri's words: "Welcome to this musical journey." I don't know if it was your intention when composing it, but it encourages us to enter an imaginary spaceship that will leave for an unknown place, but that surely contains thousands of musical secrets, yet to be discovered… We will set out on that musical journey that is expected very interesting!!.
- LINE OF TIME: For the love of God… How the hell did this come out of your minds?? But it could have been composed by any Progressive group from the 70's!! A WONDER, but WONDER in capital letters. I have finally been able to hear your voice without digital treatments or filters and, honestly, you have a very beautiful voice. Your English diction is clean and clear. Let me tell you that your voice fitsperfectly in this style. Musically speaking, well… I'm telling you, boy: it's a bombshell that explodes in your face and forces you to repeat it constantly!! A spectacular start, without a doubt.
- I'LL NEVER STOP: This TREATMENT gives me pleasant and fond memories. Listening to it for the first time, going crazy on the internet looking for the vinyl, "promoting" it on my mediocre station… Bufff… This is where it all started, including our cyber friendship. Something told me that you were an uncut precious stone and I was not wrong. Musically?? Well, I can't add much at this point: Thanks to this great song I began to trust OFC and its potential, which, as the album develops, I see is very, very, very great. By the way: This version is remixed or re-recorded, right? I mean I think it's not the same recording that appeared on the vinyl. Still, it still sounds like death!!
- SORRY: Another of the precious stones on the album, already known for its inclusion inTuria's EP. Although I'm not a big fan of ballads, this one hooked me on the first listen. It has that "something" that is impossible to describe, something that, when it reaches the heart, everything has already been said. The melody is wonderful, as well as the lyrics. Your voice sounds modulated and reaches the highs with mastery. Another wonder for posterity.
- RISING: I return to the famous phrase that I left in my comment on topic 2: For the love of God… How the hell did this come out of your minds?? Precisely something like this is what the lazy Lynne should have given us on her new album. 100% ELO sounds. This song could have been perfectly included on an album like "Time". I remember my colleague Toni when he alerted me to your website and the release of the album: "Man, OFC already has an album. Run shitting to listen to "Rising." When I heard it, I smiled satisfied and thought something that I would never have confessed to you. , but I think I have to do it: you have created a monster, something that has a life of its own and that, if you know how to move, will reach many ears that will appreciate it. From the response of the album's buyers, I see that this has been the case. They have recognized the infectious quality of "Rising" and they applaud it, something that the song and you deserve. Here you have your prize: our applause. This song has what a first singleyou need: HOOK and force yourself to listen to it constantly. You have got the formula right. Now enjoy that success, you have earned it.
- PEOPLE IN THE CITY: Pleasant surprise in an album that I did not imagine would be so varied, which makes me appreciate it much more. It is noticeable that you are momentarily moving away from the "ELO sound", but preserving its essence. The melody is beautiful, the chorus is catchy and hooks you from the first listen. This song has become one of my favorites on the album. As I mentioned before, he has that "something" that is inexplicable with words, only the heart would be able to explain it, because the music has reached him. Your beautiful and clear voice is appreciated. The choruses are excellent. The treatment you have given to this topic has caught my attention. Does it sound "atmospheric"? I love how it turned out, but I've missed a less "dry" ending. It's just an opinion, don't take it the wrong way. Another piece of genius for an album that goeson the way to becoming the best of the year, no jokes.
- ELECTRIC NIGHT: This song has given me goosebumps. It has been a very good idea to leave it as semi-instrumental, since this way you can appreciate the beauty of the musical composition in its entirety. "City lights, electric nights", a phrase that tastefully fits into the right moment, without falling into simplicity. Listening to it, I inevitably think of "Concerto for a rainy day". Not because they look alike, but they have the same "feel". Another great song that sounds 100% ELO, direct and effective!!.
- CRYING LOVE: Pedro… Being honest with an opinion sometimes leads to people not believing us and thinking that we say the words "out of commitment." Come on, to look good… I hope that, in this case, you believe me when I tell you that this song is my favorite of the entire album. It's just perfect. PERFECT. It is the song that I listen to the most and that, once again, momentarily deviates from the 100% ELO sound. It is a sensational work, I loved that change ofrhythm that appears when you least expect it, precisely that makes this song something special. Your voice sounds enormous, as does the instrumentation. The end is very nice and, at the same time, it is when the "ELO" "air" resurfaces, with those unmistakable Jeff Lynne-style choruses. I can't say that it is the best of the album, since it is full of fabulous songs, but "Crying Love" is a little gem, a superb masterpiece.
- DARKNESS FILLS THE MISTY PLACE: Identical opinion as in track 1. Strangely beautiful instrumental piece. Something tells me that it is to separate two possible phases on the disk, could it be? I have taken it that way, and it turns out wonderfully, it seems like a kind of intermediate.
- I'M A ROBOT: Boy, I couldn't stop moving my feet while listening to this song with headphones!! It could be a brilliant second single, in my opinion. The robot voice produced with the vocoder brought to my mind the immortal "Automatic lover" by Dee D. Jackson. Reminiscences of "Here's the news" everywhere!! Great direct and cool song, very cool!!
- LOST IN A DREAM: Very nice theme. Beautiful in its composition, especially in its central part, from my point of view. These are the kind of songs that I usually value especially, since they appear to be simple, but seen from another perspective, they contain many nuances. They say that genius lies in (apparent) simplicity and this is a clear example!!
- THIS ISHEAVEN: This song opened side B of the vinyl EP!! I remember that, while this song was playing on my radio show, many private messages began to arrive on Facebook, asking about the group and where they could get the album. I was very happy, as well as reaffirming my love for your project. Musically, well, another of your unforgettable songs that has already become a classic!! By the way, could it be that the lyrics refer to yourselves?
- SHEILA: Another of those little gems hidden in an album as remarkable as this one. I don't know if leaving it for the end of the album was intentional, but it looks great in that place in the tracklist. I have noticed that it is a song divided into two parts, a detail that makes it especially attractive and that, thanks to it (I suppose), the title of the album is "Outside Time". I relate this song to the end of the album "Time". It inevitably sounds like goodbye. Something tells me that the journey is over…
- OUTSIDETIME FINALE: When it seemed that "Sheila" was going to be a sad end to the album, this wonderful "outro" appears, which announces the end of the musical journey and we must abandon (unfortunately) the imaginary ship. A perfect ending that happily says goodbye to my personal journey through the fantastic World of Old Future Crash. A piece of song that I have repeated countless times and that, if my ears don't deceive me, is an instrumental remake of "Rising". A marvel!

MY OPINION:
When you dedicate your entire life to music (as is my case), you learn many things. You learn to listen (yes, to LISTEN, not to hear "in passing"), you learn to say that a certain kind of music or a certain song you like or don't like (you should never say that it is good or bad, that is mistreating artists), you learn to be selective with what you listen to…
Nowadays, at 43 years old and with many thousands of albums listened to, it is difficult for me to focus on a current group. More than difficult, it is almost impossible for me. The vast majority of those I have listened to have not contributed anything to me, they do not offer me anything new, I do not notice effort in their work, I only smell in their work the desire to earn a lot of money without being creative. I shouldn't speak in general. Many current artists remain hidden in their genius, unable to offer us their works due to lack of means. Many others have come to light, but they allow themselves to be convinced by unscrupulous managers who, by modifying their principles,They end up being what they want them to be…
…Until Old Future Crash arrived.
With them came a pleasant breath of fresh air to my ears… and to my life, of course.
Shielding themselves in their tribute to one of the Geniuses of our century (Jeff Lynne), they have become today a very notable reference when it comes to revitalizing the sounds of The Electric Light Orchestra. Without being a vulgar copy of the English band, without composing blatantly plagiarized songs from the original band, without trying to create a school with its proposal, Old Future Crash has become the best Spanish group that I have discovered in the last 20 years. If their first EP already revealed an unusual genius, the appearance of their first album made me extremely happy, as well as aroused my only doubt.
I did not doubt the ability of Pedro, Mauri and Nancy to compose a complete brand new album, but rather that they were capable of surpassing something as great as that EP. It wasn't a lack of trust in them as composers and musicians. It was my personal fear that they would try to surpass themselves without being adequately prepared.
Having the disc in my hands, my doubts completely dissipated.
I havehad the opportunity to discover an excellent work, full of sensational themes, without fillers, with no other intention than to make them known because they knew that those themes were valid, very valid.I am not exaggerating when I say (and please believe me) that it is the best album I have heard in many years. Until today, the first place of "perfect albums" on my personal list corresponded to Alain Pire Experience's magnificent first album, but OFC has conquered my heart to the point of snatching the first place from Alain.OFC has created a cult album, a rich masterpiece for its variety, for the enormous quality of its content, for the magnificent production, for a mixing process that seems very difficult to me to do… but so much work has gone into it. its fruit….
And what is that fruit? The long-awaited recognition from his true fans, including myself. It was time to recognize your efforts and it has finally arrived.
When talking about OFC, I must not forget Nancy andfrom that wonderful cast of guest musicians. They are part of your victory.
DEFINITELY:
I give you my most sincere congratulations for your work. You are the best thing that has appeared in our country in a long, long time and, just as you have started, you must continue with it. Don't allow OFC to die slowly as happened with other award-winning artists who were Geniuses and threw in the towel. Your fans want more and a lot of OFC for many years.
NOTE: Ten points out of ten. A perfect album, a must in every good and serious record collection.
