National JEFF Day!

ELOSPAIN:
JEFF LYNNE was at the BBC Radio 2 breakfasts with Chris Evans and from the interview we highlight the following aspects:
It is confirmed that the ZOOM tour meant a severe disappointment for JEFF when there was no response that was expected and believing that his audience was not interested in hearing him live. This was discovered when Chris asked him if he liked children and if he would be interested in performing a benefit concert for those in need. Chris told him what it would take for him to do a concert like this and JEFF suggested that people should be interested in seeing him live for that.
At that time Chris Evans began to conduct a poll on twitter and facebook to find out the response from the fans to see him live and asked JEFF how many responses would be necessary, to which he commented that he would not know, maybe 2000. Chris he put on a U2 song that he interrupted after a minute and a half to announce that the poll was at 1400 andthen at 1900, and after 5 or 10 minutes he was at 10,000 affirmative responses, to which Chris Evans said that they would have to book Wembley. Right after that, the Wembley Stadium events manager contacted the BBC to communicate with all those interested in performing this JEFF LYNNE concert to benefit children in need.
At one point, when music was playing, Chris asked Jeff Beck what he and LYNNE were talking about in that interval and Jeff Beck said that he was telling LYNNE what he would be doing next week as he was very interested and wanted to work with him. And he couldn't pass up the opportunity.
No mention was made of JEFF LYNNE's new music and there was talk of the awards he was receiving such as DOCTOR HONORIS CAUSA and WALK OF STARS. When asked about comparing these to a Grammy and other music awards, JEFF said that these awards were probably better becausethey were unexpected.
