”Heaven only knows”.

”It’s Over”!!

Destaco por hipnóticos: “Shine a Little love” y “Telephone Lynne”… jajaja.

When I was… Wild west…; No es pasión!!

Cierto es que ya no está para interpretar: The way life’s meant to be…

ELOSPAIN:
Return from Copenhagen. Three hours separate our capital from the Danish one. During this flight time, I intend to share with you what I have experienced and what my Scandinavian adventure has been like.
It is a peculiar city, obsessed with environmental care, renewable energy, and efficient communication. Undoubtedly, one of the most advanced Nordic countries in the world. I haven't needed to use cash for three days. And on top of that… they admire our favorite musician!
Very close to the Royal Arena in the Ørestad area, you'll find two large hotels: Crowne Plaza and Cabinn metro. The latter is more affordable but elegant, and it's where I'm sharing a modest stay with the trailers and drivers that Jeff moves throughout his current tour.
Having breakfast while observing the black trailers, like Jeff's glasses, brings a smile of nervous excitement to my face…

I visit the city of The Little Mermaid, who climbed a rock this Sunday to listen to the melodies from Valhalla, which today awaits ELO… "Heaven only knows."
It's almost cold, and there's a rush to bundle up in mid-September. I try to distract myself a bit from the specific reason that brought me to these remote latitudes. Marinated herring, well-smoked salmon, and Carlsberg beer, I admit, contribute, but soon, giant Vikings with ELO shirts appear, all with the first digit of their age being 5 or more, and a common passion for the local beer, as if there were no tomorrow and Odin had said, "Enjoy, because we've come this far… It's Over"!

The concert is scheduled for 8 p.m. An hour earlier with Angela, who patiently joins my bursts of madness to follow the adventures of this guy, we set out. We are very close and join a crowd of polite giants.
The Royal Arena is abuzz. People with light hair, older and serious, abound, and I even see some ladies in fur coats, not that it's necessary… I proudly wear my customary ELO tour T-shirt from the previous tour. Danes, 2 meters tall, tuned into ELO, take their seats. Well-dressed ladies sip white wine already settled. No children are visible, hardly any teenagers. The Valkyries, daughters of Odin, are expectant in this great Valhalla music hall. This time, it will be an Englishman who "invades" the Nordic capital of the once fierce Vikings, and he will do it with his guitar and a barrage of decibels.
A young man claiming to be an ELO fan comes on stage, now more of a fan than ever since they put him on the payroll. He introduces himself as Billy Lockett. He makes sure to remind us often, pointing to his name on the screens, aware of the unfamiliarity he causes to so many people he's tasked with entertaining while Camelia finishes arranging Jeff's bangs, who resignedly allows it. He has developed a habit of cutting the tips lately!… It's too late to change the look of the shaggy-haired guy who has always believed that everything that covers him suits him well… since his mother told him, the first time she saw her son on TV, that the dark circles he had displayed were not aesthetically pleasing. He took it literally… hahaha.
Lockett plays the keyboard, with a drummer and a bassist, his songs: "Fading into grey," "My only soul," "Empty," or "Feel so good," among others. And he hits a falsetto reminiscent of Discovery or Xanadu with "Who I am," constantly pulling from self-marketing to try to stand out in this challenging world of music. Entertaining, charming, and humble, as if not believing that he is "opening" for someone and the thousands of people who will scrutinize him across Europe and the UK. Enjoy this sweet moment while you can, Billy.

The ELOectrifying moment approaches, it's D-Day (Denmark), and it's H-hour ("Hello my old friends"). Jeff adjusts his jacket for this tour, in a light tone…
The opening chords of "Standing in the Rain" start; The instrumental intro sounds powerful, undoubtedly symbolizing the zenith of the best ELO with their "Out of the Blue." It is now performed by a band of recent configuration and increasingly consolidated gears in each tour, but led by the same GENIUS in body and soul.
The Royal Arena in Copenhagen dazzles with the new set of animations and lighting for this tour. Even better, if possible, than the previous one. I highlight, for their hypnotic effect, "Shine a Little Love" and "Telephone Lynne"… hahaha.
He's our singer, but he remains sparing in words. I don't perceive a significant decline in his voice when singing, after listening to him in "Can't Get Out," "When I Was," "Wild West"… It's not passion!!
It's true that he's no longer fit to perform "The Way Life's Meant to Be," "Save Me Now," "Moment in Paradise," as he did in the years 81/90/01. But it's a natural, irreversible, and unavoidable process that affects us all, and this man is not exempt either… aging… that's what they call it.

Yes, this tour smells like a farewell to me from the stages. Jeff has reflected on which aspects of his career he wants to offer us in his farewell. Four strokes less than at Wembley last year (Twilight / Xanadu / Last Train to London / Ma-Ma-Ma Belle).
I'm afraid there won't be many more opportunities for us to hear live virtuosity of this magnitude.
I agree with our webmaster when he says that Jeff is "to take care of himself and not for so much trotting." Lynne has established himself as a studio recording musician. It's there where, for many years, he has demonstrated his work and creative potential.
And it is now when the music industry and the well-informed general public recognize him as a composer/musician/singer/arranger and producer… A unique GENIUS who has summoned courage and determination to be accountable to his legion of international fans and on stage as the artist he was and still is.

The concert, simply… I loved it! It passed in the blink of an eye, and I enjoyed it like no other artistic expression.
Something startles me and interrupts my writing; through my plane window, a powerful light sneaks in… I look down… it's Paris… I spot the Seine and the Eiffel Tower… beautiful view!! And I think… others, like us, don't have parking for Jeff's trailers either!!
All that remains now is to count the days to see him again; it's a consuELO, who knows if for the last time, in his English lands in October… I'll then catch my "Last Train to London" And just like I'm doing now… I'll tell you about it, promised!
