Estreno mundial de… «Suspended In Time»

El Auditorio de León constituye el punto de arranque de la gira que el Ballet de Ángel Corella va a llevar por diferentes puntos de España para presentar el programa previsto para este año y en el que destaca el estreno mundial de «Suspended in time», una coreografía del propio Corella, Russell Ducker y Kirill Radev con música de la ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA. Este estreno tendrá lugar en el Teatro Principal de Burgos, el jueves 24 de marzo de 2011, a las 20:30 horas.

Cabe destacar que uno de los temas para la película XANADU compuesto por ELO es precisamente «SUSPENDED IN TIME».

El 21 de marzo podremos disfrutar en León del Corella Ballet, una compañía de reciente formación cuyo director es la gran figura del ballet Ángel Corella. Las piezas ejecutadas serán cinco: una suite de ‘La bella durmiente’, un paso a dos de ‘Diana y Acteón’, ‘Grand pas classique’, ‘La esmeralda’ y el estreno mundial de ‘Suspended in time’. En palabras del propio Corella: «ofrecen un amplio abanico de tendencias en danza, capaces de colmar todas las aspiraciones de los seguidores incondicionales de este arte. Desde el clásico más puro, pasando por el neoclásico, hasta la fusión tan sugerente del ballet incursionando y explorando en el flamenco».

La compañía Corella Ballet se fundó en abril de 2008 y en la actualidad es la única compañía nacional especializada en Danza Clásica. Desde su fundación ya ha estrenado dos grandes producciones clásicas (La Bayadera y El Lago de los Cisnes) y tres programas de repertorio (String Sextet, Soleá Pdd y Epimetheus). Está patrocinada por la Junta de Castilla y León, y la Consejería de Cultura y Turismo. Además de su programación habitual en teatros, suele contar con una función didáctica abierta a estudiantes y profesionales del sector.

El bailarín Ángel Corella (1975) es una de las primeras figuras del ballet español. Ha formado parte de la Compañía de Víctor Ullate y de la American Ballet Theatre hasta llegar a forma la suya propia. También ha sido estrella invitada de grandes compañías como el Royal Ballet de Londres o el Kirov Ballet de San Petersburgo. Cuenta con premios tan prestigiosos como el Primer Premio en el Concurso de Ballet Nacional de España o el Premio Nacional de Danza en la modalidad de «Interpretación».

The Auditorium of León constitutes the starting point of the tour that the Ángel Corella Ballet is going to take to different parts of Spain to present the program planned for this year and which highlights the world premiere of "Suspended in time", a choreography by Corella himself, Russell Ducker and Kirill Radev with music by the ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA. It should be noted that one of the songs for the film XANADU composed by ELO is precisely "SUSPENDED IN TIME".
On March 21 we will be able to enjoy the Corella Ballet in León, a recently formed company whose director is the great ballet figure Ángel Corella. The pieces performed will be five: a suite from 'The Sleeping Beauty', a pas de deux from 'Diana and Actaeon', 'Grand pas classique', 'La esmeralda' and the world premiere of 'Suspended in time'. In Corella's own words: "they offer a wide range of trends in dance, capable of fulfilling all the aspirations of the unconditional followers of this art. From the purest classical, through the neoclassical, to the highly suggestive fusion of ballet, exploring and exploring flamenco".
The Corella Ballet company was founded in April 2008 and is currently the only national company specialized in Classical Dance. Since its founding, it has already premiered two major classical productions (La Bayadera and Swan Lake) and three repertoire programs (String Sextet, Soleá Pdd and Epimetheus). It is sponsored by the Boardof Castilla y León, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In addition to its usual programming in theaters, it usually has an educational function open to students and professionals in the sector.
The dancer Ángel Corella (1975) is one of the first figures of Spanish ballet. He has been part of Víctor Ullate's Company and the American Ballet Theater until he formed his own. He has also been a guest star for major companies such as the Royal Ballet of London or the Kirov Ballet of Saint Petersburg. He has such prestigious awards as the First Prize in the National Ballet Competition of Spain or the National Dance Prize in the "Performance" category.
