ELOSPAIN:
The summer of 1973 promised to be eventful for ELO as they had just finished an extensive tour in their home country (the UK) during March and April. Following this, they paused their English tours until August of that year.
Instead, the group dedicated more than three months to tour the USA, starting in May, continuing with several concerts and television appearances in Europe, and intense recording sessions for their third album.
The band, whose second album for the Harvest label, "ELO II," had been recently released, began working on their new LP in April.
This was going to be a double album, including one live album and one studio album (as explained in the previous THE TIME MACHINE).
They were preparing a new single following their hit "Roll Over Beethoven."
There's an interesting anecdote about 60 people who attended an ELO show with counterfeit tickets. After a police investigation, they were allowed to watch the show for free. What luck!
